Our Premium Non Pet Friendly Cottage
Let Lauren show you through the Forest Cottage
Forest Cottage DOES NOT allow dogs for the simple reason that it has wool carpet. It does not have air con but there is plenty of heating in addition to the fireplace, it will accommodate up to 5 guests and has the Glenaire signature sensational view.
Tariffs are for 2 guests. Extra guests optional with a second bedroom available on request. Children are welcome and charged the standard extra guest rate.
When checking availability be sure to include correct guest numbers and number of nights required. A standard 2 night minimum applies with long weekends and public holidays restricted to 3, 4 & 7 night minimums. If in doubt please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Babies do not incur an extra charge unless a cot is required.

The magnificent old fashioned brick fireplace and pure wool carpet in forest tones characterise “Forest Cottage.” It is also our only cottage to accept up to five people, without sacrificing that feeling of space. However, you will need to request the extra bedding. Spanish tiles in muted green add to the forest effect and complement the delicious deep spa that looks out over the treetops and magnificent blue ocean beyond.
So much to see, So much to do! Or just do nothing at all!

"Soooo relaxing
I loved this place so much. I was pleasantly surprised by the welcome squad of super tame birds that greeted me as I stepped out the back door.
I had a few things about the place that I thought about doing but ended up staying at the cottage the whole time I was there! Sitting fire side or outside with a book was just what I needed. Bo is lovely and very helpful if you need anything."

"Absolutely spectacular in every way....
Went with family in March/April. Views are amazing from the Forest Cottage during the day and night. East facing balcony will treat you with beautiful sun and moon rises across the valley and forest. At night we were lucky to get a spotless sky and the full glory of the Milky Way.
The bird feeder is a magnet for all types of birds. This cottage has an outdoor BBQ area which was awesome. Room was nice, cosy and warm. Service and support were impeccable, thank you, Bo. Full kitchen, working electronics.
It was worth it in every way.
Cheers,
Shatyakii"

"Simply Marvelous
After flying for 24 hours and then driving another 3-4 hours from Melbourne, this was our first stop on our 2 weeks in Australia. WE almost did not want to leave this amazing cottage and ground with rain forests, meadows, and located right near an access point to the Great Ocean Path. The hosts were amazing and the facility was like a tiny piece of heaven."

"Fabulous
Spent a great few days in The Forest cottage (4 adults and one 7 year old). Everything we needed in such a beautiful landscape and great location to enjoy the Great Ocean Road. We especially loved feeding the parrots! Well organised and perfect hosts who were there as needed but also left you to enjoy your holiday. Would highly recommend."

"Lovely views
We stayed for two nights in Cove Cottage, overlooking a eucalyptus grove and rolling hills and fields behind. The one bedroom cottage, supplied with plenty of pillows and blankets, had a full kitchen, fireplace with logs and kindling, spa tub on the back porch, fresh flowers in the bathroom and separate toilet off the entrance. Though we never saw the koalas and wallabies that were supposed to be around, we heard and saw plenty of beautiful birds. The cottages are in the Otways, near temperate rainforest (where we did see koalas) and the spectacular ocean. The drive there is on winding roads through gorgeous forest. It was quiet other than some road noise in the morning and the bird calls. A nice retreat."

"Fantastic views & total relaxtion
Where do I start with Glenaire Cottages? We spent a few days in the 'Lake Cottage' which had incredible views, a cosy feel and everything we could possibly need with the gorgeous touch of notes and handy tips around the house. My partner and I finally got to take a deep breath and relax - we couldn't be more thankful to Neil & Bo."

"Wonderful base for exploring the Great Ocean Road
Excellently located cottages with beautiful views and comfortable amenities. We stayed at the 'Cove' cottage, one of four cottages on the property. This was a family weekend excursion (two couples, one dog, no kids) from Melbourne to explore the coast, and we had a fabulous time. We ate in both nights; the well equipped kitchen has everything you'd need for your gourmet feasts. There is a BBQ in the garden, but we decided to stay in, light a roaring fire in the wood burner, and enjoy the large family living room with its wide vista of the coast, and the resident rosellas.
The Cove is one of Glenaire's pet friendly cottages and our Australian Shepherd appreciated the 'throws' provided to protect the sofas.
Remember to bring all the provisions you might need, including bottled water if you are not keen on tank water, as the nearest shops are some distance away."
Highly recommended

"Great cottages
The cottages are well equipped for your stay. The living area has great views of the forest and the sea plus if the weather is good you can enjoy the view from the covered verandah. There is an indoor spa which also takes in the stunning views. For those colder months there is a great log fire. The location is great for exploring the Otways. Johanna beach is 5 minutes away and the Otway fly 20 min. The cottages are also pet friendly with an enclosed garden area for your dog to explore. Best to bring all your supplies as there are only limited supplies at Lavers Hill.
Definitely recommend for a relaxing weekend or longer."

"Delightful weekend away - awesome views and outside spa!
Excellent location, just off the Great Ocean Highway, however it still feels super private.
One of the best views of any cottage I've seen on the Great Ocean Road, you can see across the Point Otway hinterland, but also have a view of the ocean.
Really comfortable cottage, with the outside spa bath a real highlight. Hot water service and water pressure was excellent, and the inside of the cottage feels like it has been recently refurbished.
Particularly perfect for a winter get-away, as the wood fired heater is super effective - don't get carried away during summer! Bo & Neil were thoughtful enough to prepare a ready-to-go fire, and also gave us a courtesy call the day before to ensure we were aware of how the keys worked.
Would recommend to anyone."

"Relaxing, cozy and breathtaking.
We had an amazing time staying in your cottage. The spa on the deck was very relaxing, especially with some of the gloomy weather we had. I loved cooking dinner by the coziness of the fire Friday night, the living area has a great ambiance. And the walk through the valley, wow how lucky you are to have that in your backyard."

"Very nice walking track, beautiful birds and forest, tranquil. Cottage very spacious and we loved the jacuzi."

"Beautiful serenity.
Stayed in the Cove cottage. Cosy cottage that is beautiful in its own unpretentious way. Homely feel and lets the surrounding views take centre stage. Absolutely beautiful view from the spa on the deck looking over the bush, water and local birds of prey soaring past. We also had a koala having a nap in a tree outside."

"Great cottage in a beautiful location
Great cottage with everything you need. Wonderful views from the living area and verandah. Cosy living area with the log fire. Nearest shop 12km away so bring most of the supplies you need. Pet friendly. Would recommend staying here you won't be disappointed."

"We loved it and would very happily go back there on our next holiday in Australia
Fabulous position/views and with a beautiful (50 minute) walk in the surrounding estate. An excellent base for exploring both the Great Ocean Road and the Great Otway National Park."

"Best view on the mid surf coast....
The views are magnificent. The decks have a great view of the surrounding country side with a lot of bird life. The hosts provide food so you can feed the parrots. It is close to the point where the walking track hits the highway, and Joanna beach which is a great surf beach. ( the surf comp at Bells at Easter is moved there if there is no surf at Bells Beach) and its pet friendly too."

"Wonderful 'Off the Grid' Retreat
We loved this location, set in the hills and overlooking the ocean, it was a real retreat and the perfect place to spend a few nights after our wedding. A scenic 30 minute drive from Apollo Bay, this was a great spot to 'get off the grid' and still be near everything the Great Ocean Road has to offer with easy access to The Twelve Apostles, London Bridge and the Otways. We loved the real fire in the cabin and had a blast in the hot tub at night while the temperature outside was seemingly not quite hot tub weather! My parents and sister were in the cabin next door and had no complaints either! A highlight for my Mum was how close the wild parrots got when we laid out some fresh seed for them!"

"Lovely atmosphere, great location and adorable cottage that we will be visiting again
The cottage was everything I expected and more. It was the perfect venue for a weekend away. Wonderfully suited for pets also with blankets provided for them for inside and an Inclosed outdoor area for them. The view was incredible. I would highly recommend coming here. The cottage was very clean and equipped with almost everything you need. The walk through the owners property is also lovely and definitely worth a visit."

"We stayed in this very private delightful, light, warm and well appointed cottage last weekend for two nights, 19th and 20th June. It sits perched on the top of the world in the Otways, with beautiful views across the Aire Valley over to the southern ocean. The outdoor spa on the deck was a treat and the water hot and steamy. Looking up at the starry night sky was wonderful.
Neil and Bo have created a rainforest walk on their property that is long enough to feel like a proper bushwalk, and short enough to do it twice in the weekend!!!! Towering gums and tree ferns in the gullies make this a very special place to stay. A walk down through the paddocks to the Great Ocean Road and beach beyond, as well as the GOW walking trail, is very do-able without even getting in the car!!!
Neil and Bo are lovely hosts. Respectful of privacy and very aware of the CoVid requirements in these difficult times. Thank you to both of you for your responsive hospitality and sharing the beauty of your property."
