The Top House 

Perched high atop a ridge, the view from Glenaire Cottage’s Top House is generously carved out of the Otways forest and affords a vista through the rolling pastures of the Aire River Wildlife Reserve out to the open ocean. This premium residence was hand-built using mud-brick and local timbers in a style that’s part Australian bush retreat, part Spanish abode.

  . he gorgeous view can be absorbed from the deck, soaking in the outdoor spa, or seated around the firepit feeding the rosellas and vibrant red-headed Gang Gang cockatoos — all on the ocean-side of the property. But perhaps the best vantage point is sitting inside the barrel sauna, gazing at the ocean out of the full-height dome as you let your worries melt away.

  The open plan living room is spacious, but cosy, with a central fireplace surrounded by a warming stone hearth. You don’t have to travel far for great meals, as the kitchen features a commercial-sized gas cooktop and oven as well as modern appliances including a café-spec La Marzocco espresso machine. Transfer down a step to the sunken dining room and enjoy your meal — and the view — around the table together.

   If you do want to venture out in the Spring and Summer months, The Perch at Lavers Hill provides a fantastic dining experience and atmosphere only ten minutes away. The Top House is an exquisite getaway for a large family or group of friends with three bedrooms sleeping seven guests:

Bedroom 1 - queen bed, Bedroom 2 - queen bed, Bedroom 3 -double bed with single bunk.
